Habitus House of the Year Hybrid Awards

Challenge

Habitus Living engaged our team to produce and deliver a hybrid version of this year’s "Habitus House of the Year Awards". The highly anticipated event brings together the best of the best in architecture and design from the Indo-Pacific Region as a way to celebrate the winners and commendations for the year.  Hosted at the beautiful Stylecraft Sydney offices, the awards were to be delivered to a live audience of 30, an additional in-house viewing party of 40, as well as a virtual audience of hundreds. Our main challenge for this event was to create a beautiful and engaging event, taking careful consideration into optimising the unique experiences for all audiences, nominees and speakers involved.

Solution

Our experienced production team worked closely with the event managers in the lead up to the awards night, focusing on developing a hybrid strategy that elevated the experience for all the audiences involved. We achieved this through taking careful consideration into building separate production run sheets, and also through designing the hybrid set to optimise the virtual experience while creating an intimate space for the live audience. Our experienced producers also focused on coaching the presenters on how to effectively engage with the equally important audiences.

Using virtual green rooms and high-end switching technology we seamlessly linked the live presenters to the winners from around the Indo-Pacific, allowing the same presenter-to-winner interaction as would have been expected from the live experience.


Prior to the awards, our team had also pre-recorded a number of judging interviews, which were then integrated into the live event, further lifting the production value of the event.

Results

Using our dual approach for the hybrid event, we were able to create a seamless production that allowed all audiences to feel engaged and considered. This year’s Habitus Living awards saw a record-breaking number of attendees from all across the Indo-Pacific, while the recording of the event has been viewed an additional 27K times on their Facebook page.

Habitus Living hopes to implement this model for many of their events in the years to come.
